Glow Light Tutorial [more]

| It was announced last week that Glow Light, a new alternative Glow interface, will be enabled for all Glow users during the week beginning 6th Septemper 2010.
All staff have been emailed a short tutorial describing Glow Light and how it can be customised. You can download another copy of this by clicking on the link below.

Glow Usage in Schools

The latest statistics have now been uploaded to the Glow Usage Group. Two files have been created for each establishment showing staff and pupil usage separately.
A reminder that all staff and pupil Glow accounts have been created.
If you are a member of staff and do not have your Glow account details you should contact your ICT co-ordinator or SMT.
If you are a pupil and would like your Glow details then please ask your teacher.

Glow 101

Glow 101 is a new series of online seminars to help you get started with Glow. There are two sessions planned for this month.
The first is taking place on Wednesday 12 May from 16:00 - 16:45
This introductory session will cover the basics of navigating Glow, including exploring your school site, your My Glow area, Glow Groups and the National Glow Site.

Co-Create

Co-Create is a pioneering new initiative to bring arts education resources online for schools across Scotland through Glow. Secondary pupils are being invited to design a logo for the Co-Create project. Designer Tony Dunworth will be talking about logo design and setting a competion via a Glow Meet on Wednesday 9th June.

Staff and Pupil Glow Accounts

With just a few exceptions all staff and pupil Glow accounts are now active and ready for use.
If you are a member of staff and do not have your Glow account details you should contact your ICT co-ordinator or SMT.
If you are a pupil and would like your Glow details then please ask your teacher.
We now have better reporting tools and details of Glow usage have been sent to each school. You can also view the reports on Glow itself. Just follow the link and log into Glow in the usual way.

Graphical Navigation for Glow Groups (Update)

A series of video tutorials showing you how to create a graphical interface for a Glow group (or your My Glow area) has been uploaded to a Glow group. This group is open to all staff and pupils in Midlothian.

Digital Storytelling Glow Group

In a follow-up to a recent Digital Storytelling training course a new Glow group has been launched. Those who were unable to attend the course can now view the course material and take part in online training.
The group is open to all Midlothian Glow users - staff and pupils.
Follow the online course, view the support materials, create your own digital story and then upload it to the group to share with others.
Follow this link, type in your Glow username and password and get started!
